Rule Steel Tanks, Inc. was founded in 1960 in Caldwell, Idaho. Since starting out in a small, 320 square foot steel fabrication shop, the company has grown to 181,000 square feet of manufacturing space that spreads over 100 acres. With over 250 employees, Rule Steel is steadily growing and progressing.

As an industry leader in the Pacific Northwest, Rule Steel continues to learn and evolve. The company has had several acquisitions in the past years. Notable acquisitions have been S&T Development in 2000, Weld-Tech in 2003, Western Steel and American Quality Products in 2006, and Pacific Steel Fabricators in 2011. Rule Steel engaged in the Diamond Z brand in 2010, which was also the 50th anniversary for the company.

Rule Steel is involved in structural steel, tanks, seed and wine boxes, containers, trailer parts, and has its own transportation department. General fabrication is still part of the company, but as the years have advanced, so has the company’s reach in the steel industry. Rule Steel products can be found locally, nationwide, and worldwide. Our structural division has completed monumental projects that have changed Boise’s skyline, the most recent being the 18 story Zion’s Bank tower located in the heart of the city.

Rule Steel is dedicated to creating top of the line products that will last. Since 1960, we are the solid measure of high quality.
