Speedway Steel Industries, Inc.

Speedway Steel was founded by George P. Zittnan in 1991 as G. P. Zittnan & Associates. In 1997 we moved to a new location and incorporated as Speedway Steel Industries, Inc. Because of our ever increasing growth, we moved into our 25,000 square foot facility in 2005 to better serve our clients. We are conveniently located near interstate 465 making it easy to ship anywhere in the United States via our fleet of trucks or common carrier.

We serve clients to include: Tool & Die, Mold making, CNC turning and milling, steel mill repair, specialized machinery, feeder bowl industry, cryogenics, aerospace and pharmaceuticals to name a few.

Our primary service areas are Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky, but we do have customers all over the nation.

Company History & Growth

Speedway Steel was founded by George P. Zittnan in 1991 as G. P. Zittnan & Associates out of his home in Carmel, Indiana. He previously worked for a major steel service center in Chicago-- first as an inside work order specialist and then getting promoted to an outside sales position in Indianapolis. Before that he worked for a large steel fabricator as a draftsman and in a machine shop while working his way through the University of Illinois at Chicago.

On April 15, 1997 he moved his business into a small warehouse on the eastside of Indianapolis and incorporated as Speedway Steel Industries, Inc.

On February 1, 2005 he relocated to the present 3 acre site at 43rd and Shadeland and operates the day to day business in a 25,000 square foot facility. It is conveniently located near interstate 465 making it easy to ship anywhere in the United States via our fleet of trucks or common carrier.
