With over 60 years of combined experience, Metropolitan Steel is an AISC Advanced Certified Steel Erector serving the Chicago metropolitan area. Metropolitan Steel is extremely proud to be a union contractor. We are a signatory contractor to the Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust or IMPACT, as well as the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Local Unions 1 Chicago, Local 63, 393 Aurora, and 444 Joliet.

Safety and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. Our EMR (insurance rating) is .67 and we do periodic, unannounced safety audits on our projects. We were recently recognized in the American Chartered/MB Financials 2015 Annual Report as a Premier Contractor.
