OUR HISTORY: A TRADITION OF ENGINEERING + MANUFACTURING

In 1962, founders Don and Virginia Wynne created Folding Guard® to manufacture the best steel wire product solutions for safety, security, and storage needs. After a forty-year legacy of providing quality steel folding gates under the Folding Guard® umbrella, the founders’ son Dean Wynne established Illinois Engineered Products to focus exclusively on designing and manufacturing of heavy duty steel folding gates. Today, Illinois Engineered Products delivers the same top quality steel folding gates built by Folding Guard® from 1962-2003, while Folding Guard® continues to manufacture a wide variety of other safety and security products. Though the name has changed, the quality and demand remains: Illinois Engineered Products continues to manufacture the most preferred security gates for business.

As a manufacturer, IEP values our relationships with our customers like Material Handlers, Dealers, and Contractors – and we do not sell directly to end users. (However, if you are looking for a gate, please do not hesitate to contact us: we will happily refer you to local exclusive sellers who will help you with purchase and/or installation.) Most of our products are customizable, and our experts will help you determine which product is right for your project (or you can maximize self-service by referring to our product match tools available here). Plus, IEP Customers have exclusive access to marketing materials and additional training and support through our Dealer Portal. We are committed to providing the best customer service in our industry!

OUR LOCATION: MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE

Located in a 50,000 square-foot facility specifically designed for gate manufacturing in Chicago, Illinois Engineered Products is still the only manufacturer of heavy duty galvanized steel gates in the US. We stock over 1000 gates and ship our products within 2-3 business days directly from our manufacturing facility. We also take orders for custom projects, so the sky is the limit as to what we can accomplish for our customers – and yours!
