The History of S & R Architectural Metals

S & R was incorporated in 1976 as an industrial sheet metal shop and are signatory to Sheet Metal Workers Local 105. Our primary work was to design, fabricate, and install air pollution control systems and custom fabrication for industrial manufacturers.

In 1988 we ventured into the architectural field including miscellaneous metals and light structural steel. We have been very successful; ornamental metal fabrication and installation now comprise 95% of our work. We have established a solid reputation in the industry meeting exact specifications of our clients and providing reliable service in design, fabrication and installation of a variety of unique projects.

At the beginning of 2004 we officially changed our name to S & R Architectural Metals, Inc. We still have the same leadership and employees, only our name and owner/officers have changed.

Close employer/employee relationships are enjoyed at S & R and our key employees have been working together for 18 or more years. We have also had the fortune of building close and lasting relationships with our clients and suppliers.

At present we have approximately 19,000 sq. ft of working space with 35 fabricators, an office staff of 8, 3 draftsmen and 22 field installers. We are also a City of Los Angeles certified medium structural welding shop.

We employ several LA certified welders and can have any welding discipline certified, if desired. Welding disciplines include: Metallic inert gas welding, Tungsten inert gas welding, flux core wire welding, And Arc Welding.

S & R carries comprehensive general liability, auto, and workmen’s compensation insurance with an A+ + rated company. Our limits are $ 2,000,000 with a $ 5,000,000 umbrella on CGL and auto. Our workmen’s compensation is in compliance with the requirements of the State of California.
