The company was founded in a small bay in 1980 by Bill and Jean Grant. They recognized the need for an independent metal fabricator known for quality products. Each expansion added capacity. They also made a commitment not to compete with customers.

Grant Metal has maintained a strong commitment to family. Second generation members of the Grant family lead the company today.
