History

The story of Tubular Steel is one of solid and continuing success. The company was founded in February, 1953 and began on a modest scale with only John M. (Jack) Hauck and his secretary. Today, we have grown to over 350 dedicated people with facilities in St. Louis, Missouri; Chicago and Staunton, Illinois; Houston, Texas; Savannah, Georgia; Los Angeles, California; and Cleveland, Ohio.

Tubular Steel is continually expanding into new markets, streamlining and improving operations, and striving to provide better service to its customers. As today becomes yesterday, new chapters in its history of success will continue to be written.

For more than sixty years Tubular Steel has created and implemented proven methods of helping its customers reduce their manufacturing or fabrication costs through innovative solutions, or with its extensive inventories. These solutions include: reducing scrap with “mult” length options, reducing scrap and machining time with “guaranteed sizes”, taking weight out while leaving strength in, “just-in-time” inventory, guaranteed mill direct back-up, supplying parts instead of raw materials via “kitting”, material preparation, cutting, surface conditioning, etc., and many more.

As President of Tubular Steel I commit to you that although business has changed significantly since we began in 1953, our commitment to inventory, service and information has not. We've grown a lot since then, but still believe that only by continuously improving in these areas will we continue to provide value to our customers.
