Our History

In 1977 Joseph Bergfeld and his business partner, Bill Manser, started Pittsburgh Pipe in St. Louis, Missouri. They became part of the construction service industry and began supplying underground utility contractors with steel bore casing. Since that time, we have grown from one location with just three employees to three locations with a team of over 70 employees. Our growth has allowed Pittsburgh Pipe to not only distribute steel casing pipe but to manufacture and fabricate it as well.

Our three locations, St. Louis, Missouri; Buffalo, Missouri; and Litchfield, Illinois, are strategically located in the center of the United States to allow for truck, rail, and river transportation. This allows us to get our products to our customers faster, allowing them to get their jobs done on time.

Our pipes have weld, surface and end prep appearance and quality that will make you confident in our products. Our manufacturing processes include 25 separate inspections and measurements to assure that our customers receive the best product for their project.

Our knowledgeable team has been helping contractors complete their projects on time and budget for over 40 years.
