Apex Welding and Fabrication

John and Lara own and operate Apex Welding and Fabrication, a small business located minutes from their hometown of Lafayette, Colorado. They recently moved into their new, 2500 sq.ft. permanent shop space in the Erie Airpark in Erie.

With a rich and varied background in aerospace engineering, architectural woodworking, boat building, and real estate construction (just to name a few), John took to metal welding like a fish to water. He’s an elite welder and quickly becoming one of the most sought-after precision part welders in the Rocky Mountain region.

Lara brings a background in Project Management and an entrepreneurial flair to the team. And while she’s built the infrastructure of the business from the ground up, she can often be found in the shop working on fabrication. In her spare time she welds small sculptures that bring a spark of the unexpected to life.

When they’re not in the shop, John and Lara can be found exploring the mountains, camping or checking out art galleries in the small towns throughout Colorado and New Mexico. They are raising two incredible teenagers and a cat.
