Founded as a small bolt forge in the heart of Germany in 1852, the family owned business established GAH Alberts Inc. in 2005 to bring high quality German engineering to American homes and businesses. We are the sole US provider of unrivaled decorative metal barriers and railing systems manufactured in Germany and assembled on-site in the USA by American craftsmen.

It started in 1852 when the Gustav Alberts Herscheid family launched a small bolt forge in the heart of Germany. Over the next 150 years, the family-owned enterprise continuously expanded its production lines, gaining a national and international reputation for quality and workmanship.

Beginning in 2006, GAH Alberts, Inc. began to explore an entirely new market in the United States, At this time, American Galvanized Ironworks’ Carlos Witt, had been in the fencing industry for several decades and was seeking a better solution over wood, wrought iron and PVC fencing and railings. He was on a hunt for a material distinguished by its durability and beauty. The quest took him as far as the GAH Alberts’ manufacturing campus in Germany, where testing proved the product was so impervious to rusting, so resistant to climatic changes and so appealing in design and possibility, that American Galvanized Ironworks LLC committed its forces to install GAH Alberts’ products exclusively going forward. And thus our partnership was born. A partnership founded in honesty, quality and trust. Our systems are manufactured in Germany under rigorous standards and shipped to the United States for onsite installation by American craftsmen.

Now American Galvanized Ironworks LLC and their partner, GAH Alberts offer exciting modular designs for use throughout the US with a 15 year warranty and no welding or painting required in the field. Architect’s railing and decorative metal barrier designs are reviewed by design, manufacturing and installation professionals on both sides of the Atlantic. Our access to the GAH Alberts’ 35,000 parts and numerous steel tube sizes and profiles, allows us to create modular railing, and barriers that reflected the architect's original concept. If a design is one that we’ve not created before, our American and German design teams work to utilize our existing resources to create a cost effective version. Then we create a prototype from the ground up to ensure what looks good on paper can be manufactured and installed properly, while maintaining engineering standards. Once the design is finalized and tested, our American craftsman work with you to ensure a seamless installation.
