Ryan Gilmore and Tony Schaefer are both born and raised Minnesota boys. They are both from the Twin Cities area, and both have an extensive background in the jewelry business.

In 2007, Ryan J. Gilmore attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Carlsbad, CA, where he became a GIA certified gemologist. While attending GIA, Ryan had the opportunity to meet and build relationships with friends from all over the world! Ryan then attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he received his bachelors in Business Administration specializing in Marketing with a professional sales emphasis. After graduating from UWEC, Ryan moved to Chicago where he was an outside sales rep for 2 years. “I loved what I did in Chicago, but there was something missing. I missed the jewelry industry and had so many friends asking me to help them out with engagement rings, watches and other jewelry, that I saw a great opportunity to open my own store.” In December of 2014, Ryan's dreams became a reality when he opened R&M Diamonds in the Uptown area. By 2018, Ryan built a business and reputation on both the wholesale and retail side of the industry. This is when Ryan decided to turn R&M Diamonds into the wholesale side of the business and launch a brand new retail store with Tony Schaefer, MSP Jewelers!

MSP Jewelers is the only fully-customizable jewelry store in the Twin Cities, specializing in custom pieces you won’t find anywhere else, along with their unique vintage timepiece collection.
