I am an Iowa farm boy that raised 2000 head of hogs and 400 acres, worked in high school in manufacturing to earn money, received a US Congressional nomination and was accepted to Naval Academy and West Point, but ultimately enlisted as a Navy Aircrew Search and Rescue Swimmer. I scored a 99 on my ASVAB mechanical aptitude test, graduated first in class in Navy electrical apprenticeship training, was promoted first time up every time, and was discharged as an E-4 after just one term. I self-educated and gained experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic integrating with the electricians on 3rd shift to crossover application in electrical theory from aviation to industrial.I moved to Southern California in 2005, I went back to school for an Associates in Business and was accepted as 1 of 100 students at semester to CSULB for a specialty Bachelors in Industrial Engineering. I continued to work integrating mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, electrical applications, and maintenance principles in the various industrial maintenance positions I held. The economy tanked, was highest paid, least tenured, and first one out the door, was single father raising two daughters in South OC, unemployment ran out, went homeless, rode my bicycle through East LA passing out resumes, and found an industrial equipment/machinery dealer to do contract maintenance for. I brought my tool box in and repaired, serviced, maintained hundreds of different kinds of equipment from various manufacturers to ensure proper operation before being sold and shipped all over the world.
