Our Story

High Quality Metal Roofing Systems… -A Family Tradition

Since 1959 the Wells/Boyer family has been a leader in the metal exteriors marketplace, with a specific focus since the 1990’s on high-quality metal roofing systems. Almost 60 years ago our grandfather, Robert “Bob” Wells Sr, incorporated Bay-Wel Inc. in Ocala, FL and became an early pioneer of the metal siding industry. Bob Wells made a name for himself as a world champion rodeo cowboy in the late 1930’s and as a member of the Coast Guard during World War 2. Through hard work and fearless American grit, he became a success and built the foundation for what would become a 3-generation legacy in the metal construction industry.

Over the last 6 decades there have been countless changes in the construction industry, with an oceanic ebb & flow of trends, companies, products, economies. Through periods of prosperity & recession, shortages, inflation, trade wars, and the policies of our entire political spectrum, few things have refused to falter. One area of the construction world that can always be relied upon is metal. Considering durability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, metal cannot be beaten. Simply put, the metal is going to do what the metal is supposed to do. It’s the people that make the difference.

So, how do you identify the right “metal people”? It’s obviously important to use quality materials, have proper tools of the trade, and provide thorough training, but at the end of the day, there is no substitute for experience. At Metal Roofing HeadQuarters we provide an unmatched level of attention to detail on every project. We employ trained estimators, hire skilled craftsmen, and provide an elite level of training and education. Our office staff, estimators, & install technicians are the backbone of our company, and the single biggest reason that we have so many happy customers. We use the latest technologies to bring our clients added value, and we have access to a pool of resources that very few metal roofing contractors in America can come close to matching. All that said, our greatest value comes in the form 6 decades of experience. Trial & error is the ultimate training course. Of course, we’ve had our share of failures, but it’s those failures that we learn the most from and learn not to repeat.We’re still growing and trying to improve our business every day. Jonathan, Uncle Robin, & I now carry on the legacy that Grandfather Wells created so many years ago. We find ourselves in a metal roofing industry that is truly in its prime years, with a company that is a respected nationally for it’s quality, innovation, and volume of work. Our recent portfolio includes everything from U.S. Border Patrol Stations in Laredo & El Paso, Texas to Banks & Churches in Mobile & Birmingham. Our true passion, however, is working with homeowners to help bring their dream homes to life. Whether it’s a metal roof on a cottage, rancher, colonial, villa, or the occasional mansion, there is nothing better than seeing firsthand the joy a beautiful new metal roof can bring to a homeowner.
