C.E. Clarke & Son, Inc. is a distributor of materials handling and storage equipment. We stock major brands of casters, caster wheels, hand trucks, appliance trucks, platform trucks, furniture dollies, and other related equipment at our warehouse in Richmond, Virginia. 

We have been supplying Virginia, and other surrounding states with industrial casters, furniture casters, stainless steel casters, pneumatic casters, and institutional casters since 1924. Originally setup as a woodworking mill, C.E. Clarke & Son, Inc. began to repair and rebuild wooden cylinders of commercial laundry machines. In the process of doing most of the woodwork for the commercial laundries, it was often necessary to furnish casters for much of the rolling equipment in the laundries. In 1939, the Darnell Caster Line was taken on as a source of supply for this need. 

During World War II, C.E. Clarke & Son, Inc. furnished Darnell casters for the wooden bomb and torpedo cradles that they built for the Yorktown Naval Mine Depot. After the war, wooden laundry cylinders were being replaced with those of stainless steel. C.E. Clarke & Son was not setup for metal fabrication, so focus shifted from woodworking to the distribution of casters and wheels.

Now in business for over 80 years, C.E. Clarke & Son, Inc. has developed lasting relationships with many major suppliers of casters, caster wheels, hand trucks, dock equipment, shelving, and other materials handling equipment. This large number of suppliers allows us to customize our product offering to meet even the most specific customer needs.

We stock a full line of casters, caster wheels, and other materials handling equipment, but we have even more products available from our suppliers that we do not stock in our warehouse.
