Tektonics’ founder, Christopher Hildebrand, leads an energetic team with diverse backgrounds in fine art, industrial design, advanced manufacturing and traditional wood & metal crafts. The intersection of these trades is the core of our identity as a product development firm. Through collaboration with our clients we believe that the best designs result from the push and pull between challenging ideas and effective means and methods of making.

Since 2003, our goal has remained consistent—to be the dynamic and professional resource our clients need by embracing both traditional and advanced manufacturing practices. Tektonics is part of the Richmond community. We're proud to be located in the Manchester neighborhood, an area with a rich industrial legacy.

Our 20,000 square foot facility houses our design studio, machine shop, and wood and metal fabrication centers. Without boundaries between our design office and workshops, our creative process is highly fluid and dynamic. Inspiration and design solutions are always within reach to both us and our clients. Unlike with most design firms, our clients move seamlessly from design to prototyping and manufacturing.
