Industrial Fabrication Services, Inc.

Industrial Fabrication Services (I.F.S.) in Lake Crystal, Minnesota is a custom metal fabrication facility that builds metal components for many bulk material handling industries. Currently I.F.S. employs about 55 people in a 60,000 square foot facility. I.F.S. is located 12 miles southwest of Mankato, Minnesota, just off of Highway 60, in the Lake Crystal Industrial Park. From this location I.F.S. ships products throughout the continental U.S.A., Canada, Mexico and sometimes worldwide. I.F.S. works primarily with general contractors, custom equipment manufacturers, mining companies, agricultural processors, and power generation facilities.

History

1984

Ken Wilmes, Steve Lueck, Ken Boomgarden, Tim Stokes, Duane Boomgarden, Dan Dunn and Duane Liebl founded Industrial Fabrication Services, Incorporated along with a group of private investors.

1987

After several years of profitable operation, I.F.S. begins to expand its workforce, adding shop personnel.

1997

Industrial Fabrication Services expands its facility, adding 5000 square feet of shop space, a larger painting facility, a CNC press brake and a CNC plasma cutting table.

2004

Industrial Fabrication Services celebrates its 20th successful year in operation.

2007

Industrial Fabrication Services plans a large expansion to accommodate its constantly growing list of valuable customers.

2008

Expansion is completed. Main building is 150' x 400' including a 60' x 40' office space and remodeled offices for the drafting department. Also acquired is a 50' x 90' storage shed on the property which now spreads out over 8 acres in the Industrial Park.

2009

To show off the expanded facilities and to celebrate 25 years of successful business, an Open House was held in August for the many families and friends of IFS.
