We take great pride in serving architects, general contractors and dealers by offering one of the most comprehensive and complete product lines available today to the commercial construction industry.

We are in collaboration with more than 80 industry-leading manufacturers offering Commercial Steel and Wood Doors, Commercial Door Frames and Architectural Hardware that includes Electronic Access Control and High Security Door Products.

We offer a fully stocked warehouse for immediate pick up, scheduled delivery, or Motor Freight shipment. Southern GF maintains fabrication shops to expedite the process for custom needs.

Aftermarket and dealer sales along with contract and negotiated sales work in conjunction with the Architectural Specification driven markets in divisions 08100, 08200, 08220, and 08700.

HISTORY

Like so much else that is important to modern Atlanta, Southern GF started out on historic Decatur Street. We began life in 1912 as Southern General Fireproofing Company (hence the “GF”). By 1920 our founder, Louis Aronstam, purchased three buildings at 263 Decatur Street which were constructed in 1896 by Gottfried L. Norman for the paper manufacturer Wellhouse & Sons. These buildings served as the company headquarters. There, a short walk from the central business district, Mr. Aronstam made Southern GF Company the significant presence in Atlanta’s business community that it remains today.
