Jefferson Iron Works uses the industry's most accurate and versatile ferrous and non-ferrous metal planers to accommodate any size metal planing application. Our largest planers feature a 40 ton crane and 10' x 40' capacity.

Jefferson Iron Works is a 'Green' company, machining without flood  coolant. With our unique tooling process, heat goes into the chip rather  than the part.  Unlike Blanchard and Madison grinding, we don't generate landfill  sludge or lake polluting liquids. Our by-products are 100% recycled.

Metal Planing

• Single Point Tooling achieves a more consistent finish than milling or blanchard grinding
• Three heads cut two perpendicular faces. This is a very cost-effective way to process many parts prior to secondary operations; and to reduce set up, qualifying and machine time.
• Rough-planed bar stock up to 40-feet long is saw-cut and readied for conventional or CNC machining, significantly minimizing qualifying and roughing time.
• Our planers are ideal for this type of deep internal work. The large, deep pockets are rough and finish-machined in a cost-effective manner.
