Since 1996, Symons Engineering Consultants has been engaged in the local design community producing over seven hundred successful projects for our commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional clients.....but it may not have started like you think. At that time Dan Symons had just gained a new position as a young engineer at a promising design firm. He quickly realized that not all businessmen were honest with their clients and found out that his supervisor was double billing clients on two projects for the same hour worked! This created a practical and moral dilemma: Be loyal to the supervisor for the sake of a paycheck, or report his discovery to the client jeopardizing the company and risk being fired? He relied on his faith to make the right decision and quickly removed himself from employment; his only source of income knowing well that he still had a mortgage, a wife in school, and two young children to feed at home. He hit the pavement looking for work and took a small project on contract to help pay the bills. Well one thing lead to another and many years later we are still here. Integrity and Strength in Design was the right decision back then and it continues to guide the company today.

At Symons Engineering Consultants we believe 'Quality is Contagious' and that principle applies to every step of a project. If the work quality is contagious, each step will get better and better and if it is not, every step has the potential to unravel and compound a little more until ultimately the client is dissatified in the end. We strive for thorough involvment of the client and clear communication at every step of the project so that they can make informed decisions at every milestone necessary. These steps are not limited to:

• Listening to and understanding the client's needs

• Gathering all outside info necessary to 'program' the project

• Developing creative solutions

• Studying applicable codes

• Identifying appropriate permit processes

• Evaluating sustainability options

• Refining design solutions

• Preparing construction documents

• Obtaining permits for construction

• Assisting with resolving construction challenges

We also believe that basic human needs come first and immediately following that is taking care of our planet in everything we do so that we may sustainably continue to meet those needs.
