Family-owned businesses were once the backbone of the community. After over fifty years in the construction business, and in a changing world where “BIG CORPORATE” business is the name of the game, the Shapiro family still owns and runs their business on the old-fashioned principles of community, service, honesty and quality work for a fair price. “We specialize in complete interior and exterior remodeling,” says Michael Shapiro, second-generation owner of D&H Construction. My father, Melvin, started this business in 1959. I joined the company in 1987, as a young man, learning the business from my father. Vinyl siding, windows/doors, and roofing were the bulk of our business back then. Over the last twenty seven years we have expanded into doing kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, additions, dormers, second levels, basement remodeling, new construction and other fine carpentry. We still specialize in the originals as well: siding, roofing, windows/doors, porches/decks.

D&H Construction has done thousands of residential remodeling and construction jobs all over the North Shore and southern New Hampshire, and although home remodeling is the larger percentage of our work, we have done many commercials jobs as well. From large construction projects at Hanscom Field to new windows for Donatello’s Restaurant in Saugus, MA, D&H Construction prides itself on knowing,understanding, and using the most up-to-date products offered in today’s construction and remodeling industry.
