Meet The Owner

Ray Mangini

After attending the Hobart School of Welding Technology in 1975, he was hired as a welder at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton, CT. Working on nuclear submarines, he completed their apprentice program overseen by the US Navy, gaining experience in the challenging fabrication of subs.

In 1979, an opportunity to work for Union Carbide Corp. arose at the Tarrytown Technical Center. Hired as a welder and fabricator, he worked closely with welding engineers and machinist’s in the Linde Division, where they developed new welding processes and gasses.

With a passion to create custom metal work, he started Fusion Specialties in 1985. Understanding the limitations and expectations of metal, and using proper welding techniques, he executes working designs that will exceed your expectations
