Our History:

Hilbers Construction was founded by Leroy Hilbers in 1962. The company began as a builder of custom homes in Yuba, Sutter, and Butte counties. In 1983 Leroy’s eldest son, Kurt Hilbers, joined the business after graduating from California State University, Chico. Together they formed L&K Construction and expanded into commercial contracting.

In 1984 and 1985 Leroy’s remaining sons, Glenn and Larry, joined the L&K team as a superintendent and a licensed civil engineer, respectively. In 1988 the brothers became partners and the company incorporated, forming Hilbers, Incorporated.

Since incorporation, Hilbers, Inc. has worked exclusively as a commercial contractor and developed a large portfolio as a builder of restaurants, schools, churches, retail, medical, fuel stations/c-stores, and pre-engineered steel buildings. The Hilbers, Inc. team has gained extensive experience in all manner of building from wood-framed to steel and concrete tilt-up.

In 1999, Tom Jones was added as a partner after serving more than 12 years as a Project Manager. Aside from his duties as a Project Manager and owner, Tom oversees our punch-list personnel and is responsible for our Facilities Maintenance department. He has vast experience in all manner of construction and has been instrumental in the growth of Hilbers, Inc.

Over the years the name Hilbers, Incorporated has become synonymous with quality construction, integrity, and customer service. Hilbers has a number of clients who return year after year to build numerous projects with us. Approximately 85% of our work is negotiated because of the trust placed in us by our clients.

From a humble beginning, Hilbers, Inc. has grown steadily under the leadership of the Hilbers brothers from a small town contractor to a national company. We have remained rock-solid in changing and challenging economic times because of our strong leadership.

To this day the company strives to adhere to and continue to maintain the original vision developed by our founder: quality construction, collaborative partnerships, and superior work.
