Alco-Metalube was originally formulated to prevent corrosion problems caused by boat trailer wheel bearings that had been immersed in salt-water. This unusual combination of proprietary heavy duty hydrocarbons and special additives became accepted on the Qualified Products List of the U.S. Navy and Oceanographic fleets, as well as offshore oil well drilling. This transition took time, but was assisted by its quality and friendly 'word of mouth' contact within industrial circles.  Now accepted by land oil drilling, heavy construction and agricultural equipment, mining, recycling and others, Alco-Metalube has become the benchmark lubricant able to withstand the punishing shock and stress exerted by the demands of more powerful machinery hardly imagined a generation ago. The double gravity and uniqueness of Alco-Metalube outperform ordinary weight greases, including synthetic and silicone. This shear resistant toughness results in improved production, while minimizing expensive repairs and downtime.
