In 1978, Steve Kuljis started City Industrial Tool & Die in 2,000 square feet of rented space in Harbor City, California. In those early days, the company produced stamping tooling for a variety of commercial industries, and began to build a reputation for knowledge and craftsmanship in the metal stamping industry. By 1983, the company had moved into a larger facility, acquired its own punch press, and began to produce custom parts and assemblies as well as tooling for its growing customer base. By the early 1990’s, City Industrial Tool & Die had moved into its own 13,000 square feet of manufacturing space with separate tooling and production stamping divisions.
