PRECISION WOOD PRODUCTS

In June of 2016 Precision Wood Products celebrated its 20th year in business. The company has grown 10-fold since its beginning in 1996.

Doug (our owner) started the company with a few pallet customers, but the main job was pre-cutting lumber for the late F.L. Bodogh. After three or four years, the company phased out the cut stock business to concentrate on growing the pallet manufacturing operations of Precision Wood Products.

Precision Wood Products buys mostly spruce 2×4 and 2×6 from 40-inches to 16-feet in length. Precision Wood Products also buys some 4×4 heat-treated Southern yellow pine to produce blocks for a Euro-style block pallet. All incoming shipments are assigned numbers to enable strict tracking of heat-treated lumber, and the company’s heat-treated pallets are certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Precision Wood Products was the 11th Canadian wood packaging business to be ISPM certified. ISPM has helped make our industry. The global phytosanitary rule for pallets used in export has spurred pallet suppliers to meet the challenges with a greater degree of professionalism.

Heat-treated pallets usually range in size from 18×18 up to 120×120. Production normally ranges from 1,700 to 2,000 pallets daily.

Precision Wood Products is an active member of the Canadian Wood Pallet and Container Association and the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association.

Precision Wood Products and all of its employees are proud that most of their customer base has been built through referrals.
