Van Dam Iron Works, Inc. was founded in 1930 when Gerrit Van Dam began hand crafting ornamental iron for his local commercial and residential customers in Grand Rapids, MI.  His mission to provide innovative quality products and outstanding customer service became the keystone that has supported our business over these 80 plus years, and continues as our mission today.  

Over those years, we’ve grown and evolved to become a full service miscellaneous metals fabricator.  VDIW today is best known for providing custom stair and guardrail systems in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum for customers throughout the Midwest and beyond.

We still believe that quality products, superior customer service and treating people the way we would like to be treated is the right formula for long-term success.
