S. M. C. Aluminum Foundry, Inc.

SMC Aluminum Foundry was started in 1968 in a small, two car garage located in Findlay, Ohio by Mr. James Atkins and Mr. Franz Carlton.  The first products this small company produced were castings for door ports and accessories for automotive service garages.

The company began to grow due in large part to the responsiveness and unique casting solutions and the business was moved from Findlay, Ohio to the town of North Baltimore, Ohio in 1970. There they settled into the community and operated out of two facilities; a Foundry and an adjacent building that was used for machining and finishing operations. SMC, which prided itself in the delivery of a quality product at a competitive price, once again found themselves needing more room to expand in order to add additional product lines and customers. In 1986 SMC relocated to a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility located at 100 Peters Street.  Today SMC still operates at this facility that houses all facets of the company’s operations. 

In 2010, SMC Aluminum Foundry was purchased by ALCAM Industries. ALCAM brings with it the resources necessary to continue to grow and diversify the business in hopes of delivery to our customers a new level of service while continuing to provide the exceptional quality and cost competitiveness they have come to expect.

The new ownership and management team look forward to building upon the strong customer and supplier relationships that have been developed over the years as they plan to continue to 'Exceed Customer Expectations'.
