Struthers Metal Service

Struthers Metal Service was established in 1981 in Struthers, Ohio by brothers John and Tom Scheckelhoff and Vince DelSignore and offered custom metal shearing services.  The company steadily grew and moved to a larger 36,000-square-foot facility in the Salt Springs Industrial Park in Youngstown in 1995.  Noticing a demand for steel blasting, SMS added two blasting booths along with a backdraft paint booth to the facility in 1999.  Struthers Metal Service’s project portfolio includes work for the pipe and construction industry both locally and nationally.  In addition to large projects, SMS also services individuals and businesses that request smaller, custom jobs.  Today, the top priorities at SMS are quality and service.  The company is still run by founder John Scheckelhoff and his two nephews.

Custom Shearing

Description: SMS uses five Wysong Shears capable of shearing the following dimensions: 1” 10 foot, ½” in 6, 10 or 12 foot, 1/8” 10 foot and 3/8” 10 foot.
