Ray and Valora Crandall founded Intermountain Lift in Springville, Utah, April 29, 1969. Later the company ventured into more technical removal, rebuilding, and installation projects for various ski lifts, and rope tows. The size of the facility and personnel gradually increased to where the company was able to begin serving other markets in the Amusement, Transportation, Industrial And Commercial industries with their specialized steel fabrication requirements.

Facilities

To handle almost any specialized steel fabrication job, Intermountain Lift, Inc. utilizes a large production facility. An environmentally controlled 70,000 square foot enclosed work area protects all materials from weather, dust, and temperature fluctuation. Intermountain Lift is also equipped with fifteen overhead cranes, 5-ton through 45-ton capacities. The present facilities are located on 10 acres of terraced, graveled surface. All shops are assembled together as one total facility, with the exception of the paint shop, which stands alone but connects to the blast shop area with an outside crane way extension.

Intermountain Lifts 'Roundo' and 'Williams & White', bending and rolling equipment, can roll pipe or tube up to 24-inch diameters. Beams, tees, channels and angles can be rolled up to 15-inch. The roll and bending machine operators are provided with computerized specifications to form the intricate shapes and sections of roller coaster track and other specialized fabrication projects.Fifteen 5-ton through 45-ton overhead cranes and several smaller jib cranes cover over 70,000 square feet of production floor space and material storage bays. Lifting capacity of this magnitude allows for maximum handling and product flow during the fabrication and finish process.
