Don Fruchey started our company in 1950. His dream was to build one of the best companies providing specialty contractor services. The results were so successful that our company grew well beyond his expectations.Financial resources were scarce in the beginning, but Don had limitless determination and energy. He combined these qualities with the keen ability to attract the most valuable resource the company has: outstanding and highly skilled people. While we are now one of the larger specialty contractors in the Midwest, we retain our family business culture and our ability to serve customers with projects of any size.

In the early days, our strongest focus was on structural steel, bridge steel, and pre-cast concrete erections. Our largest project was the steel and pre-cast erection of Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. We gradually shifted our focus as the company grew, and eventually industrial equipment installation and plant maintenance services became the backbone of the company. We proudly note that our industrial customer list includes several clients for whom we have worked steadily since the 1950s.After a gradual transfer of responsibilities to his sons, Don retired in 1980. Robert and David Fruchey continue to pursue the goals established by their father. His daughter, Donna, and grandsons Ryan and Adam also work for our company, which is headquartered in a renovated, historic inn that once served travelers on the Wabash-Erie Canal. Don passed away in 2007.The future is bright for Don R. Fruchey, Inc., as continuous improvements create even better resources for our customers. While remembering past achievements, Fruchey will stay focused on using its experience and expertise to provide excellence to its customers.

• Our customers become partners with a contractor who will react quickly to custom fabrication situations. Our PWC Fabrication division meets the day-to-day needs of our jobsite crews. PWC has become one of the leading custom steel and equipment fabricators in the area, working directly with customers when our installation services are not required. Fruchey has also developed working relationships with other qualified fabricators to meet customer needs
• Our customers become partners with a contractor who will store new equipment until the time of its installation or store used equipment until its disposition has been decided. Our facilities meet these needs. We can assemble and modify equipment before shipping for final installation. Crating for overseas shipments is also available. We currently have facilities at our Old Maumee Road address and at Casad Industrial Park.
• Our customers become partners with an industrial contractor who will help with their steel construction needs. We can design, fabricate, and erect what you need for new building construction or for existing building renovations and modifications. Our services include structural steel erections, reinforcing existing building steel, and mezzanine erections.
• Industrial equipment comes in all shapes and sizes. We have the skills and equipment to handle industrial equipment from the heaviest to the most delicate.
• Customers often have complicated alignment and leveling requirements. Our civil engineers and highly trained craftsmen utilize state-of-the-art tools to satisfy these needs
• Our customers become partners with a contractor who will install industrial equipment for any business from foundries and auto assembly to food processing plants.
