At the turn of the 20th century, high pressure die casting was beginning to take hold in the manufacturing industry. In 1903, George Stroh saw the potential in this technology and founded Stroh Die Mold Casting. Starting with one zinc machine, George decided to relocate the business from Rochester, New York to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to make zinc components for the International Time Recorder Co. (now IBM). By 1905, Stroh Die Casting grew up to 41 customers with 139 different die configurations. In 1920’s the great depression swept across the nation. Remarkably, Stroh survived the economic crisis without laying off a single employee. In 1940, Stroh rebounded during War World II, as the nation’s Industrial base supported the war efforts. In 1952, Stroh introduced High pressure aluminum die casting to It’s operation. In 1995, Stroh Die Casting transfer it’s operations to Stroh controls a new facility opened in Mauston, Wisconsin.
