We are a family business located in historic downtown El Dorado, Arkansas. Hutton MacFarlane first started his search for oil in 1917 at Goose Creek Field in Texas. He followed his passion to South Arkansas where we first began as Hollyfield - MacFarlane Company in 1920 and was part of the great Smackover Oil Boom. 

In 1954, James H. Nobles, Jr. took over the reins and MacFarlane Company emerged. With over 80 years of history and four generations strong we have an array of business ventures ranging from Oil and Gas Exploration, Investments, Timber and Farmland. Thank you for stopping in.
