Basic Systems, Inc.

Basic Systems, Inc. was incorporated in November 1982 to consolidate the engineering services of Jack R. Youngs & Associates and G&L Services, Inc. into a single organization.  

Since the beginning, Basic Systems, Inc. and its predecessor organizations have had strong ties to the natural gas and energy industries.  Basic Systems, Inc. has continued to grow in terms of its technical capabilities, manpower resources and financial strength.  Currently, Basic Systems, Inc. provides engineering and design services for projects all over the United States.  In addition to engineering services, Basic Systems, Inc. provides procurement, construction management and turnkey construction services primarily focused on the natural gas and energy markets.

In May, 1999, Basic Systems, Inc. internally reorganized into three design groups.  There are currently two Facilities Groups and one Automation Group.  The Facilities Groups supply services to support the construction of primarily natural gas related facilities.  The Automation Group supplies services to support the implementation of control systems that are required to efficiently operate natural gas related facilities.  The Automation Group is very versatile in today’s changing environment.  The Automation Group is a valued asset to Basic System’s Inc., and can be an integral part to any automation project in any industry.

A Sr. Project Manager leads each group.  Other members of the Facilities Groups include Project Managers, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, designers, drafters and administrative support.  The Automation Group includes Electrical and Controls Engineers, programmers, designers, drafters and administrative support.  This complement of technical and support staff make each group a self-sufficient organization.  The groups are expected to handle multiple concurrent projects and increase in size as required to complete the work.  Currently, Doug Law is the Sr. Project Manager of Facilities Group 1, Jean Roe is the Sr. Project Manager of Facilities Group 2 and Dave Eisenbarth is the Sr. Project Manager of the Automation Group. 

In October, 2004, the majority stockholders: Jack R. Youngs and Ronald E. Miller, sold their interest in Basic Systems, Inc. to Leara E. Oliver and Thomas A. Stemmer.  The focus and organizational arrangement of Basic Systems, Inc. has remained the same under the current ownership.

While we have grown into a multi-discipline engineering and consulting corporation with experience and expertise in other industries, the natural gas industry is our home.
