Tech-Steel Inc., is a structural steel fabricator founded and incorporated in the State of Utah in 1964. Our main office and plant are located in the Freeport Center in Clearfield, Utah, approximately thirty miles north of Salt Lake City. Customers are also served from a sales office in North Salt Lake. Even though we are located in Clearfield, Utah, our reach goes well beyond Utah’s borders. Tech-Steel has supplied fabricated steel for projects in eleven Western States, Alaska and Hawaii. We are a licensed contractor in the state of Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming and California.The company's growth has been marked by strict adherence to the highest quality of workmanship. It has established a reputation for reliability, financial responsibility, accuracy, and on time delivery. Tech-Steel maintains a rigid Quality Control Program and is certified by the American Institute Of Steel Construction as having a quality certification for complex steel buildings. Tech-Steel ranks among the major steel fabricators in the Intermoutain area. Payment and performance bonds have been furnished for various projects in size of up to seven million dollars.
JD Sales Division
JD Sales operates as a department of Tech-Steel supplying metal joists and deck for projects quoted as complete steel packages. JD Sales also supplies materials and detailing direct to customers for metal joist and deck only packages.

• 120,000 sq. ft. fabrication facility with 40,000 sq. ft. serviced by three 10 ton bridge cranes with 64' span and 600 ft. travel.
• 100,000 sq. ft. production area and 2,500 sq. ft. of office space.
• Light fabrication area of 21,000 sq. ft. serviced by six 2 ton hoists.
• Material storage - outside 7 1/2 ton bridge crane with 60 ft. span.
• Production equipment includes CNC drill line, CNC beam coper, CNC plasma table, two band saws, three iron workers, five hydraulic punches, cambering machine and nineteen welding machines (stick, mig and sub-arc).
• Enclosed blast facility with indoor shop priming.
• Wheelabrator.
• AWS quality control program with independant audits.
• AISC quality certification for steel building structures (STD).
• Experience in shop assembly and shipment of trusses up to 24 ft. deep and 200 ft. long.
• Fabrication of commercial and industrial projects over 3,000 tons.
• Furnish and erect structural, miscellaneous steel, joist & deck for complete steel packages.
