Colorado Corn
127 22nd St , Greeley, Colorado, United States | Biofuels
The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) was established by the 1987 Corn Marketing Order to manage a one-penny-per-bushel assessment collected by first handlers from sales of corn in Colorado. Those funds are allowed to be used specifically for market development, promotion, research and education on behalf of corn producers in this state. Farmers elected to the board and the annual budget are subject to approval by the Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture. The Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA) is a member organization founded in 1979, with its dues-paying farmers and agricultural representatives focusing on policy at the local, state and national levels that impacts the ag industry, while also engaging in various other efforts that benefit our local producers. Because the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee's one-penny-per bushel assessment is administered by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, those dollars can't be used to lobby for or against bills. That's why the Colorado Corn Growers Association exists, and why it's vital to corn farmers. CCGA is guided by a board of directors in the scope of projects they undertake.
