Meade Energy Corporation and Meade Oil & Gas LLC are privately-held oil and gas exploration and production companies headquartered in Oklahoma City, with an Accounting Office in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Meade pursues the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of high quality oil and gas reserves primarily in the state of Oklahoma. Meade currently operates more than 120 properties in Oklahoma and has interests in over 1000 outside-operated properties in Oklahoma, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Meade Energy can trace its beginnings to 1957 when James Meade joined forces with Snee and Eberly, natural gas producers from western Pennsylvania, in the drilling of several prospects in the Arkoma Basin. With the assistance of K. T. Meade, Jr., exploration and development continued into other areas including the Anadarko Basin under the company names of Snee and Eberly, Eberly and Meade, and finally as Meade Energy Corporation and Meade Oil & Gas LLC. In January 2005, James Meade’s daughter, Virginia A. Meade, succeeded him as president of the corporation.
