CARLIN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, LLC was founded in 1995 in Waterford, Connecticut as a construction manager, general contractor and design/builder. The company relocated to its present address in New London in September of 1999. The principals of the company, brothers John and Dan Carlin, were employed previously employed at Carlin Contracting Company Inc. in Waterford, Connecticut. Carlin Contracting Company was founded in 1975 and works primarily in the water treatment and wastewater treatment facility construction arena.

Carlin Construction is a merit shop firm that provides construction management, general contracting and design/build services for a wide range of private and public clients and building types throughout New England, New York and Maryland. Our projects include new construction, renovations, and the expansion of existing facilities as well as demolition. We have completed both private and public projects in the retail, corporate, academic, healthcare, government and non-profit market sectors. Our profile includes retail spaces, hotels and exhibit space, corporate headquarters and administrative offices, warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing, dining, banking and religious facilities, emergency services, medical buildings and a myriad of educational projects. By skillfully managing the design and construction process we are able to control project costs and streamline schedules. By consistently meeting and exceeding our client’s expectations, Carlin has built a solid reputation for competence and professionalism.

As civic-minded family and company, we understand the importance of social responsibility and strive to be active leaders in our community and supportive of local charities and organizations. Our family is supportive of several of our neighboring non-profit organizations such as Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, Visiting Nurses Association of SECT, Child & Family Agency of SECT, Fairview Odd Fellows Home of CT, Horizons, High Hopes, The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, Big Brothers Big Sisters of SECT, Saint John’s School, Mystic Aquarium and Mitchell College, as well as others.

Carlin has substantial bonding capacity, capable of handling assignments from modest renovations to large-scale new construction projects. We can bond a single project up to $25 million and our aggregate capacity is $50 million. Our current single project size ranges from $50,000 to over $9 million. Our annual volume over the last five years has been approximately $17 million.
