Venturing down Fifth Street in downtown Redlands almost two decades ago, you would have found many small businesses between State and Citrus. One of these businesses was a petite, non-descript jewelry store called Redlands Jewelers. Since 1971, Redlands Jewelers occupied a small 600 square foot space on Fifth Street in the center of the block. In 1995, Dave Ahlers, after being a bench jeweler for over twenty years, took ownership of the small jewelry store and the face of Fifth Street would never be the same. Dave’s underlying emphasis when he took over the business was simple, “A happy customer is a return customer.” He accomplished this level of satisfaction by providing his customers with quality jewelry repair and custom jewelry design.  Today’s Redlands Jewelers still holds Dave’s founding philosophy and because of his high level of customer service over the years, the store has expanded in size to about 2,500 square feet and now stretches to the corner of Citrus and Fifth. This expansion has made Redlands Jewelers the largest jewelry store in town.  Visiting Redlands Jewelers today, you will find a wall-to-wall showroom of fine jewelry and a large collection of Citizen watches.
