PO Box 4004, West Columbia, South Carolina, United States | Aluminum
The business started in 1946 as a partnership between Charles R. Parrish and John W. Parrish, based on the elder Mr. Parrish's U.S. Patents No.1947794 and No.1950062, for fabricating window screens
Loxcreen Company was incorporated in Georgia in 1947. During 1948 and 1949, the company was inactive; however, with the invention of the tension window screen, the company resumed operations in Columbia, South Carolina and in 1953, a branch location opened in Dallas, Texas.
In the early 1950s the company expanded with a line of roll formed metal trim products. In January 1955, the Columbia plant was burned to the ground. The company immediately secured a temporary location and within two weeks production resumed as a result of supplier cooperation and sincere hard work from every associate.
The Aluminum Group started with the acquisition of a small aluminum extrusion business in Chamblee, Georgia in 1956. This added extruded trim mouldings and opened the door to a new world of opportunity in extruded aluminum products. In 1968 the company acquired the Roxboro, North Carolina plant. The Hayti, Missouri plant was a greenfield addition and began operations in 1972. These plants have complete extrusion, anodizing, painting and fabrication capabilities. Also located in Hayti, Missouri is the remelt and billet casting foundry. The group acquired O-T-D Corporation in 2005 and LM Containers, located in Caruthersville, Missouri, has become the leading manufacturer of specialized aluminum pallets and intermediate bulk containers.
The Plastics Group produces extrusions in PVC, Polyethylene, ABS and other polymers. A vinyl extrusion plant was built in Brooklet, Georgia in 1965 and has since undergone several major expansions. In 1998 Oregon Polymer Systems, a custom vinyl extruder in Hubbard, Oregon, was acquired and in 2007 moved into a new state-of-the-art plant located in Woodburn, Oregon.
The Distribution Group, with facilities in Texas, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, provides inventory management and Just in Time (JIT) services to a diversified customer base. The acquisition of Metal Distributors and Southwest Metalsource in 1997 provided the addition of stainless steel, aluminum and copper coil and sheet products to compliment the extruded products and in 2005 the combined distribution business was renamed Loxcreen Metalsource. In 2007 the addition of a cut-to length line in the Arlington, Texas location further expanded the group's capabilities.
The Building Products Group manufactures and distributes window screens and storm doors to retail building products and home improvement stores throughout the southeast. The Columbia plant has also expanded into custom fabrication of component parts for other original equipment manufacturers utilizing CNC technology.
The Flooring Group was formed with the acquisition of Bengard Manufacturing in Toronto, Canada in 2000. This group produces a wide selection of transitional mouldings and related products for use in both residential and commercial flooring applications at its manufacturing locations in Mississauga, Ontario and in Hayti, Missouri. The acquisition of Kinkead in 2002 positioned the company as the leading supplier of these products in North America.
