Ubiquity Solar (USI) is developing high performance advanced silicon materials focused on the photovoltaic (PV) industry. Ubiquity Solar uses a low cost, proprietary silicon refinement and crystallization technology to provide products that will outperform standard PV silicon ingots, bricks and wafers. These unique products will improve the profitability of Ubiquity Solar’s customers by allowing them to increase the performance of their PV cells without any change in their process creating a way to differentiate themselves in a mostly commodity PV market.
Ubiquity Solar will also disrupt the PV industry with a modular production process technology that shifts the main profit driver for polysilicon production from an ‘Economies of Scale’ to an ‘Economies of Mass Production’ model for constructing production plants. This model provides optimal integration of polysilicon, ingot and brick production requiring significantly less capital with greater flexibility to meet customer requirements.Ubiquity Solar Consulting has a team of industry veterans that can assist with many PV related issues and opportunities facing a company. All consultants have had senior roles in PV companies and bring many years of industry experience. Most are shareholders in Ubiquity or part of a strategic partnership with Ubiquity Solar. Specifics are determined on a project-by-project basis.
Ubiquity Solar Inc. has been in the business of creating, financing and managing technology and photovoltaic (PV) businesses since 1989. MacLellan Management Ltd. changed its name to Ubiquity Solar Inc. to reflect the shift to an operating company. The major businesses that the Company has co-founded co-financed and co-managed have been Creation Venture Capital (VCC) Corporation, Creation Technologies Inc. and ARISE Technologies Corporation. The Company has also consulted to several solar companies including Solar Design, Advanced Energy Systems and others. Ubiquity Solar has been active in solar energy since February 1996 consulting to Solar Design and Advanced Energy Systems on the project to install the largest PV system in the world (at that time) of 360kW on the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta which included a 20kW BIPV micro-inverter system. Ubiquity Solar then founded ARISE Technologies in March 1997. Mr. MacLellan led ARISE as CEO until Feb. 2008 and continued as CTO until September 2011. He then retired from the Board in November 2011. Mr. MacLellan and an experienced team of more than twenty solar professionals has been developing the Ubiquity Solar strategy, technology roadmap, and team. Recently Ubiquity Solar has consulted to several companies on PV markets and technology.
