Gardner Mechanical Services, Inc.

Gardner Mechanical Services has been maintaining and servicing air-conditioning systems in the Northern Nevada community for over 39 years. Our capabilities enable us to meet all mechanical system needs including system training, mechanical maintenance scheduling, energy management training, and long term operational and maintenance requirements.

Gardner Mechanical Services is networked with numerous nation-wide service organizations. This affiliation enables constant expansion and enhances the quality of building maintenance programs. These programs have been developed in recognition of the broad spectrum of mechanical system requirements. Our service methods allow all maintenance activities to be initiated, directed, administered, monitored and updated by a computerized tasking database. This programming assures that services are performed at regular intervals. Equipment profiles are developed to ensure that necessary maintenance and repairs are provided for each piece of equipment and that no maintenance tasks are overlooked. The utilization of this computerized tasking system allows us to substantially increase the quality and efficiency of our field operations and provide to our customers the highest level of services available.

Energy Conservation Services

Gardner Companies have the unique qualifications and background to provide its customers’ complete “turn key” energy services capabilities. These energy service capabilities include all aspects of the energy conservation process from preliminary feasibility analysis to project development, implementation, performance verification and financing.

These capabilities have been recognized and subsequently utilized by numerous large corporations in their energy services offerings to their customers. These large local and national firms include Carrier Corporation/United Technologies, Honeywell, LINC National Service Franchise, Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Power Company.

Another testimonial to our energy expertise are the numerous clients that have repeatedly used these services. Gardner Companies have been asked back to complete additional energy efficiency projects at the University of Nevada, Reno (9 times), Resort at Squaw Creek (3 times), First Wells Fargo Bank (2 times), R. R. Donnelly (2 times), and Fitzgerald’s Hotel/Casino (4 times). In each instance the economic results of the first project created substantial interest in identifying any further energy savings potential.

Gardner Companies utilize a unique approach to the energy services process. We analyze the facility as a whole, looking in detail at the interrelationship of all energy consuming equipment. Computer models are established based upon the configuration of all energy consuming equipment contained in the facility including mechanical equipment and lighting. Adjustments are then made to the computer model based on a detailed utility bill analysis. Potential energy savings modifications are then incorporated into the base-line computer model to see the economic effects of the modification including energy savings levels in relation to the associated implementation costs. A menu of viable energy conservation measures is then presented to the customer including energy savings levels, associated implementation costs, an implementation plan and financing, if required. The construction department, with verification of savings following completion, completes the installation of the chosen energy conservation measures.

Design/Build Services

Gardner Companies unique blend of professional engineering, total mechanical construction and service capabilities make the firm ideally suited to provide Design/Build construction services on both new construction and remodel applications. Gardner Companies can provide single source responsibility for all services required by a project, from preliminary concept and design work through post-project system commissioning and on going preventative maintenance services. By packaging all services under a single point of responsibility, the potential for conflicts between the design team and construction team, which usually includes separate contractors for the plumbing and piping, sheet metal and temperature control trades, is totally eliminated. Another benefit of our design/build capabilities is that they will substantially reduce construction time. Long drawn-out approval processes between the engineering team and contracting team are eliminated and construction activities can be initiated (underground work, for example), prior to the completion engineering design work.

Gardner Companies have completed numerous design/build projects including large industrial, commercial and residential applications implemented on new construction, remodel and energy retrofit projects. In each case, Gardner Companies provided single source responsibility for the proper operation of each system installed.
