Amoroso Jewelers, a private jeweler, was founded in 1948 by Louis R. Amoroso and has been family owned and operated for over 60 years. The company was incorporated in 1976. In 1995 the showroom at 373 Washington St. was moved to 333 Washington St., Suite 305.

The company has staffed graduate gemologists from the GIA since 1975 when Robert Amoroso completed the residence program. He became the first graduate gemologist to establish a gem lab open to the public in Boston, with the purpose of promoting GIA diamond nomenclature, gemstone identification and appraisals. Since that time, John Amoroso and Denise Cote have also received GIA diplomas.

Amoroso Jewelers is able to offer quality diamonds, colored gems and jewelry at very low prices because they eliminate the middlemen in both manufacturing and when buying the gemstones.

Instead of buying a finished piece of jewelry from a manufacturer they make most of their own pieces using local talent and overseas craftsmen. Because of their long standing relationship with cutters from around the world (US, Canada, Belgium, Israel) they eliminate “wholesaler markups ”. And lastly, instead of the high rents associated with street level or mall stores Amoroso Jewelers owns their third floor location.

The changes in diamond, precious stones, and metal prices over the years has made thorough and precise appraisals a necessity. Appraisals on jewelry completed more than a year ago may no longer be accurate. Even though your insurance company does not require it, it may be worthwhile to update your appraisal every two years.
