Purple Mountain Jewelry is a family-owned and operated business located in historic Monument, Colorado. John Havercamp is the Goldsmith and his wife, Valorie, work with customers to create unique, personal jewelry. John’s love of jewelry began in high school when he took a class and made his high school sweetheart, Valorie, a silver ring. John loves nothing more than taking on challenging jewelry repair jobs and giving pieces new life. He fully recognizes that it is the sentimental value of jewelry that far outweighs the market value. John works with a state of the art laser welder (one of only a handful in the state of Colorado) allowing him to perform repairs not possible with older repair methods

Not only is he the “jewelry doctor”, but he’s also enjoys both the actual fabrication as well as custom designs. He works with customers utilizing a CAD/CAM design system, electronic mill to create a wax model that can be tried on and an injection casting machine. Purple Mountain Jewelry is proud to have the resources and talents to take a design from a sketch on a napkin to the finished piece. Valorie now works full time with John in the jewelry business. She finds it rewarding to work with customers learning what story they want a piece of jewelry to tell and how the piece will be worn (in the ballroom or in the barn)

Purple Mountain Jewelry is located in Historic Downtown Monument, Colorado. We specialize in custom fine jewelry and jewelry repair. All repairs and fabrication are done on site at our location in Monument. Technology allows us to provide services to our clients that are not offered by most jewelers. Our designs are born of a sophisticated, state-of-the art, CAD/CAM design, and milling system. A high-tech laser welder allows us to perform difficult repairs and aids in the fabrication of custom pieces.
