Robinson Jewelers was first founded in 1969 by Floyd G. Robinson. The doors first opened in downtown Greenville on Evans Street as a watch repair and jewelry store. Floyd’s son, Mike, took over the store in 1985 and maintained his father’s vision by continuing to offer fine jewelry sales and jewelry repair.  storefrontIn 2002, Mike relocated the store to where it now stands in Arlington Village. Mike now works side-by-side with his son, Justin, as they continue to serve their customers the way Floyd would have wanted. As the in-house jeweler, Justin continuously strives to repair and restore your most treasured pieces so that they can once again be worn and enjoyed. Mike continues to serve his customers in the Robinson way by building trust and integrity with each customer. Today, Mike has tremendously grown the store’s inventory to include a wide variety of engagement and fashion jewelry, watches, sterling silver, and much more.  The Robinson Jewelers staff strives to make every experience an enjoyable one. If you want to just look, then look! If you want to take your time to select that perfect piece, then we will be happy to take our time with you. Our goal is to always leave you with a smile on your face

In 1969, Floyd G. Robinson founded the family-owned and operated jewelry store, Floyd G. Robinson Jewelers. While the store first opened its doors in downtown Ayden, Robinson Jewelers spent most of its early years in downtown Greenville on Evans Street. Floyd founded the store to provide in-house watch and jewelry repair, as well as high end jewelry at reasonable prices. Moreover, Floyd’s main goal from the start was to bring his clients personal service and the highest level of care and precision.

Floyd’s philosophy of attention to detail began with his Navy experience in 1946. After returning from his tour of duty, Floyd began to work in the jewelry industry as a watchmaker in Washington, D.C. After gaining industry knowledge and experience, Floyd returned to eastern North Carolina and eventually took over Staffers Jewelers of Ayden, NC to found the jewelry store that is now Robinson Jewelers. While growing the business, Floyd raised his family in his hometown of Winterville, NC with his wife Chessie. The two were married for 50 years. In 1985, Floyd passed the torch to his son, Mike, who now operates the family business under the same traditions that Floyd began. The values of Floyd G. Robinson can still be seen in the store today through Mike and his son, Justin, as they treat every client with the same care and concern that Floyd did years ago

During the early years of Robinson’s beginnings, Mike Robinson worked diligently by his father’s side at the downtown Greenville store. Mike grew up in Winterville, NC and attended school at Winterville High School before attending Wayne Community College where he received state licenses in watch and jewelry repair. After working many years with his father Floyd, Mike took over the business in 1985 and began to cultivate the business that it is today.  In 1995, Mike made the first big move that would change the face of Robinson Jewelers by bringing the store to Arlington Village. In 2002, Mike made yet another bold move by taking the store to its present location in Arlington Village on Red Banks Road. Despite all the many changes that the store has gone through to bring it to where it is today, Mike has always held true to the values that his father founded the store upon.  When Mike took over his father’s business, he made sure that no matter what changes were made, the store would always carry on the same traditions that were started by Floyd. Today, it is those same Robinson family values that Mike uses with every client. In our store, we want each client to feel like a Robinson family member. Whether it is a simple watch battery replacement or the engagement ring that will change the rest of your life, Mike will take as much time as needed to make your Robinson experience a special one. Mike promises to treat every client the same as the last, with the utmost respect and attention. To this day, Mike will tell you that it is more important to him to create a repeat, lifelong client than to earn a sale

At Robinson Jewelers, we pride ourselves on offering in-store services. Justin Robinson, Mike’s son, is a third-generation Robinson Jeweler and has been the in-house jeweler since 2004. Justin has been working at his father’s side for nearly 10 years and has spent many hours improving upon his craft by taking numerous courses in stones, metals, and craftsmanship.  Among his certifications completed are the Platinum and Gold Smithing, Basic Stone Setting, and Advanced Stone Setting, all of which were completed under the instruction of Blaine Lewis at the New Approach School for Jewelers in Virginia. Justin has spent years perfecting the craft of stone setting and metals smithing in order to bring you the finest workmanship possible.  We have recently added the Rofin Starweld DX laser welder in order to bring you even more precise artistry. By using the laser welder, Justin is able to work on your most precious pieces without leaving any solder joints, making it a seamless design.  Justin Robinson treats every piece with the utmost care. Whether it is your everyday piece of costume jewelry or your great-grandmother’s antique engagement ring, Justin takes special care with your jewelry. He prides himself in his repair work, custom jewelry creations, and engravings and hopes to leave you with a lasting memory.
