Burkes Fine Jewelers was established in 1969 by Dorothy and Fred Burke, Sr., and built on a simple premise: good old-fashioned service, superior craftsmanship and lasting friendships with our clients as, together, we celebrate those unforgettable moments. Eighteen years later, in 1987, I met their son, Fred, Jr. on a blind date, and we’ve been together ever since. Not only did I fall head-over-heels in love with Fred, but I also fell in love with his family, their business and the laid-back lifestyle of the Northern Neck, this magical peninsula flanked by the Rappahannock River, the Potomac and the Chesapeake Bay. Over the years, I’ve come to see that jewelry is more than an accessory. It symbolizes those timeless moments that reconnect us to our soul. It reminds us of what is truly important in life—our own personal love story—and it embodies the life of the one who wears it and the one who bestows it. Soon after our marriage, Fred, Jr. and I took over the business. Fred brought his training and expertise as a Master Jeweler. I brought my love of fine jewelry and all it has meant to my life, and my deep love for the land and the waters of the Northern Neck, symbolized in many of our pieces. Custom Design
At Burkes Jewelers, creative custom design is our specialty. Whether an idea scribbled on a napkin, a treasured heirloom you’ve been longing to transform, or something brand new, we can create a custom piece uniquely your own. Simply choose the right diamond(s), gem(s) and/or precious metals, and we’ll work with you one-on-one to create a design that fits your lifestyle and budge

Repairs
At Burkes, we will happily repair or restore your jewelry, including ring sizing, rebuilding prongs or tips, lost diamond and/or gemstone resetting and remounting, and clasp replacement, to name just a few. We’ll also change your batteries on your watch and do inspections while you wait.

Appraisals
A jewelry appraisal is a written document describing your jewelry and giving a value, according to current market value. There is no governing or licensing body for jewelry appraisal, so it is vitally important to choose an appraiser who is certified, with a high level of product knowledge and experience. At Burkes Fine Jewelry, we appraise jewelry, diamonds and gemstones on the premises. Our Certified Gemologist will provide photographs of your pieces, as well as a certified copy of your item. Also, when you purchase any one of our pieces, we will be glad to provide an appraisal upon request.

Shipping
Shipping rates and methods are dependent on the item(s) you purchase, destination of your order, and the shipping method you select. We offer the following convenient delivery options: USPS, UPS, or FedEx. All are free of charge. We charge only for expedited delivery. Once you have placed your order, you will receive an email to let you know when to expect your treasure.

Gift Wrapping
Our customers love our complimentary gift wrap—it’s almost too pretty to open. In fact, from what we hear, we’ve made a lot of men look like heroes when their loved ones come home to their beautifully wrapped treasure.

Ear Piercing
Ear piercing is available on the premises—FREE. However, we do charge for the earrings you choose for your piercing. Our trained staff will instruct you on how to take care of your ears after piercing, and when you get your ears pierced by Burkes Fine Jewelers, you receive 20% off all earring purchases for a lifetime. Age 6 and up.
