Store History

A Legacy In The Making

In 1916, Roscoe Rost graduated from the Bradley School of Horology (the study of making time-pieces) in Peoria, Illinois and soon began his career as a watchmaker working under E.H. Murray in Pulaski, Tennessee. Little did Roscoe know, but he was about to put down deep roots in Tennessee. While working diligently and learning the jewelry business, he met and married Lucille Griffin of Minor Hill.  When WWI broke out, Roscoe went overseas, and then back to Peoria for six years, before finally returning to Giles County and his former position at Murray Jewelry Store in 1924.
