The Stagecoach itself began in 1973 when Jim and Joyce built a shop of their own, north of the I-80 corridor in Kearney Nebraska. At that time, there were few other businesses around them, just a gas station and a couple of hotels with hopes that Nebraska tourism would prosper.  Today, Kearney has grown tremendously and is surrounded by thriving hotels and restaurants. What a difference over 40 years makes! Times have changed and we no longer have the petting zoo. Instead, we carry the finest in Southwestern gifts and souvenirs. Moreover, we have become the premier retailer in Nebraska for Native American Turquoise jewelry, including Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni styles. Gary and Susan Glandon have owned Stagecoach Gifts and Jewelry for many years but our story actually begins years before. Gary's grandparents, Leon and Mazie Henline along with Jim and Joyce Glandon (Gary's parents) built our first souvenir store, the Wigwam, in the tiny town of Atlanta, NE in the early 1950's. Travelers along Highway 6, could stop and rest while enjoying a cherry cider or purchase a souvenir or two at the Wigwam. The many tourists never failed to visit the Wigwam's petting zoo, our own small Nebraska attraction, with its many exotic animals and a mascot miniature bull named Ferdinand. Furthermore, 

 Turquoise jewelry is one of the hottest trends in the fashion world right now.  You will see turquoise jewelry not only in the western part of the USA but in Paris fashion shows.  American turquoise is the most popular turquoise in the world today and because it's getting harder to find the prices are rising accordingly.  Stagecoach has a great selection of this hard to find turquoise from American mines and we've been specializing in it since 1973. Some of the American turquoise the Stagecoach features come from the Kingman mine, the #8 turquoise mine, Royston, Damele and many other mines that produce wonderful stones.
