National Copper and Smelting (NCS) is a leader in the market for precision copper tubing. The company was founded in 1916 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved its operations to Huntsville, Alabama in 1982. In 1985, a group of investors from Birmingham, Alabama purchased the assets of the Ohio corporation.In 1990 Alabama investment group purchased American Tubing Incorporated (ATI) located in Springdale, Arkansas. American Tubing is a copper tube fabricator that manufactures equipment for the HVAC industry. As a result of the ATI acquisition, National Tube Holding Company was formed in 1990, and became the parent company for NCS and ATI.In December 2012, Small Tube Products of Altoona, PA purchased the assets of The National Copper & Smelting Company from National Tube Holding, and changed the name to National Copper, LLC, dba National Copper & Smelting.For over 100 years NCS has been providing high quality seamless copper products to the HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, appliance, and electrical connectors industries. We produce tubing from 0.035' O.D. to 1.750' O.D., any temper, any form. 

 Our lab technicians are thoroughly trained in various laboratory procedures including chemical analysis, mechanical testing, grain size determination, hardness testing, flow testing and residue analysis. All testing is in accordance with established ASTM methods to insure our products meet or exceed industry standards.
