A&J Jewelers was founded with family in mind.  Not just our family, your family, your family's family.  We set out each day to make the special days that much more special.  It isn't just good business, it's good tradition. 

Starting in 1986, Ashok and Jody Taank took their lifelong passion and expertise to the next step and opened A&J Jewelers in Stone Mountain, Georgia.  Just ten years later, A&J recevied the prestegious accredation from the American Gem Soceity, putting them on the map as one of Georgia's select, elite jewelers.  Shortly after, A&J moved to Snellville to set up shop as Gwinnett's premier jewelry sales and service center.

History

Ashok & Jody Taank immigrated to the US in 1984. Like most immigrants new to the country, they had very little money, few friends, and no banking relationships with which to start a new business. Ashok worked for another jeweler and saved enough to finally open the doors of A&J Jewelers in 1986.

Ashok and Jody spent their life savings and began their American Dream but money was still short and difficult to find. When funding for jewelry displays was short, they hand carved their own ring pads from wood. When cash was short for wall displays and work benches, they spent their Sundays building their own. It was this extreme work ethic and 'can do' attitude that helped them persevere through barriers that most small business didn't overcome.

When they finally gained a firm financial footing, they began reinvesting their profits to expand their inventory and began to hire new staff. As the jewelry industry evolved with new technology and techniques, Ashok and Jody embraced the change and learned new and better ways to do business. Success came when A&J Jewelers become known for their vast product selection, superior in-store experiences, and the highest standards for service and integrity.

Despite economic downturns, the evolution of the internet, and squeezed profit margins, A&J continued to grow while the number of jewelry retailers in the US was contracting We attribute our success to the original culture, philosophy, and ethics Ashok and Jody started the company with 30 years ago.
