El Paso Electric

El Paso Electric (EPE) first began serving its customers on August 30, 1901.  It was then known as the El Paso Electric Railway Company.  Initially its primary business consisted of providing transportation via mule-drawn streetcars, which were replaced in 1902 with electric streetcars.  By 1925, the Company’s core business had evolved to producing and distributing electricity.  That year, the company changed its name to the El Paso Electric Company.  It was also granted authorization to transact business in New Mexico.El Paso Electric (EPE) is excited to connect and engage with our customers and members of the public and share information about EPE in a different format that may be useful or interesting. This site is not intended to serve as a forum for specific customer service issues, to report outages and/or any other emergencies. EPE maintains the right to delete posts or comments that contain vulgar or abusive language; pornography; personal attacks of any kind; offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups or incite violence. We will delete comments that are spam, are clearly “off topic” or that promote services or products. Comments that make unsupported accusations will be taken out of the discussion. • Regulators –Provide timely and accurate data to Regulators, while working in an honest and collaborative manner to resolve any Customer issue;
• Employees - Maintain a dynamic, creative work environment that fosters safety, professional development, mutual respect, commitment and integrity; and
• Shareholders - Provide a fair return to Shareholders commensurate with risks and in the top quartile of the electric utility industry.
